Vashon Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) has expanded to fill gaps in island healthcare, serve the uninsured and underserved populations, offer chronic health support, help with mobility or access challenges, and assist in social service coordination, with the supervision of a full-time physician assistant (PA). This new “Community-Based Care” model is designed to complement primary care and urgent care services and help provide long-term security for healthcare on the island.

Vashon Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) is a unique model. It is being designed from the ground up to fit our community and its specific needs. With the recent hiring of a PA, Vashon MIH can provide services that would typically require a visit to primary or urgent care. The partnership among the island’s three primary healthcare organizations creates a reliable network, ensuring residents have consistent access to care for both immediate and long-term health needs.

While primary care, Vashon Mobile Integrated Health (MIH), and DispatchHealth (urgent care) may all be qualified to address some of the same acute illnesses and injuries, they each have a unique scope tailored to the diverse needs of our community.
