Resources

To simplify navigation of the island’s recently expanded health care services, we have developed this 5-part care continuum. This quick reference guide is designed to help residents easily identify the appropriate provider for their specific health concerns. Print and save this two-sided document for easy access at home or in your office.
Thank you for being a part of our vibrant Vashon community. Your health and well-being are our top priority.

If you were unable to attend last month’s community forum, ‘Who Ya’ Gonna Call’, you can watch via YouTube. Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we share highlights of the meeting via social media, the monthly newsletter, and the website.

Introducing Compassionate Care

We are excited to announce that our Compassionate Care Initiative is now in effect, allowing eligible Vashon residents to access urgent care services through DispatchHealth via our partners at Vashon Youth and Family Services. Here’s how it works:
  • Call the Compassionate Care referrer at VYFS from 9-5 Monday-Friday at 206-688-8405 and explain your situation.
  • The referrer authorizes a visit from DispatchHealth.
  • DispatchHealth contacts you and sets up an appointment.
  • DispatchHealth provides your care.
  • DispatchHealth bills the Vashon Health Care District.
  • You schedule a visit with VYFS and provide the necessary financial information.
  • VYFS helps you sign up for available public or private insurance where eligible and able.

Tim Johnson

My rather eclectic work history includes law enforcement and security, food manufacturing, distribution,  sales, brand development, project management, political campaign strategy and messaging, nonprofit leadership, retail operations, and local governance. Having worked on one health-related project or another on Vashon for close to fifteen years, returning to serve a District I helped create is the honor and challenge of a lifetime.

I thrive on connecting with people, ideas, opportunities, and solutions, and welcome your suggestions, questions, concerns, or critiques. Outside of public life, I enjoy golfing, playing drums (badly), cooking (surprisingly not badly), devouring a good novel, pampering pets, and exploring new and familiar urban and natural haunts.
